Buy Low Sell High

“Buy low sell high” – that’s the idea but how to put it into practice?
Everyone would like to know an easy way to do this. The reality is you have to work at it.
Knowing how to lay your hands on something that you can sell for a profit and a significant one is where most of us would like to be. High street shops manage it so why can’t you? Well you have to know where to look and then what to do.
The best source of information? THE INTERNET! Not shocking really is it?
A great place to look for bargains are auctions but, be careful as there is always commission to pay to the auctioneer. Make sure you know what the typical sale price is for the goods you are thinking of selling. Be extra careful of late amendments to listings as this can mean you are bidding on a far cheaper item than you thought. You also need to have an idea of how much you are going to make on each item and whether this is going to be a viable long term course of action – are you just trying this for fun or is this going to be a serious form of income.
Playing the stock market or foreign exchanges (FOREX) is an option but you have to do your research as it will mean you need a significant pot of money to hand (several hundred £’s just for starters). The profit margins can be very small unless you are really lucky. Be prepared to make losses as the markets go down as well as up depending on many external factors. Software is available in abundance that claims to do all the donkey work for you but most are a total waste of money as they hardly ever deliver what they claim. The people who really make money here are the ones who study the markets very carefully and know just how the markets are affected by external factors such as expected company profits or even likely industrial action. Government budget figures have a massive effect on share prices so it makes sense to build yourself a calendar of key events.
Whatever you decide to do, be careful and don’t just jump in. Do your research and you will greatly reduce the chances of making a loss.
